Congratulations to 1N2D~ Ok, I must admit that i've been lazy for the past two weeks, and bad old me didn't post translations because I was too busy watching the Olympics, and trying to get used to the pace of life in school. Now that I've pretty much settled in, I'll try to take some time off each night to continue translating 1N2D. No promises though. I am a real procrastinator sometimes, and I apologise for that. So now for part 1.
So the show starts as usual with KHD's roaring scream and introduction. KHD tells us that the show is finally a year old, and the guys are really happy of course. He also mentions how they are back at the location where they shot their first opening scene of the first episode. SuGuen then mentions how when he recorded that first opening, he had a girlfriend, and now he is already a daddy. *flashback to the first episode where he's talking about his girlfriend on the car * Aww, that was sweet. It really shows how the guys have changed and grown, doesn't it? Anyway, in the flashback, Ji Sang Ryul very impatiently ends SuGuen's conversation asking him not to go on, he's not curious about his (love life) at all. JiWon remembers this and tells SuGuen, and LSGuen being the joker he is, said "Ah, I'm really happy without that person (Ji Sang Ryul) here!) LOL! KHD then reveals the theme of this week's trip. No surprise, its a celebratory trip down memory lane, so they are headed back to the place that they started the whole program with. LSG then mentions how they other guys always talk about their first trip as that of to YongDong, but he, MCM and KimC have no memories of that trip because they weren't on the show then. His meaning here is to say that he hopes to create beautiful memories during this trip of course, which we will later see. So the 1N2D special episode commences.
On car KHD: Hey, back then.. what did we do on the first episode? *flashback* [One year ago] [The 1N2D team were hungry and had no money] [Idol Noh Hong Chyul got off] [and begins an impromptu autograph session at their rest stop] [and they are saved from starvation by the townsfolk] KHD: I remember.. LSG (cuts in loudly): AH! I saw that! KHD: So we are going to do the same thing again this time... EJW: Send Seung Gi! KHD: Lee Seung Gi, Lee Seung Gi! LSG then said something that made me choke on my laughter. He's so bluntly honest sometimes. And I must say that the exclamation marks the editors added in made me flip even more. LSG: Hyung, but you know, for me, when I hear things like that (how high his popularity is) I will say Ah~~ No. But (secretly) inside, I feel really happy? Honestly. Honestly. But that became a burden from then. Like what if I don't get 1st? Or if my popularity is no longer 1st? If the popularity fades, I'll feel really uneasy you know? (He means to say that his popularity, or the possible lack of evokes a very uneasy feeling.) [His inner worries] KHD: Lee Seung Gi has now Korea's typhoon popularity (He's saying that LSG's popularity is taking over korea like a typhoon) LSG: Ah, right! I know! [EMPEROR] Everyone cracks up. Ok, so we only see KHD cracking up LSG: I know, and I'm really thankful for all of this, but it's a burden! This popularity, the popularity is not yet a typhoon! (aww, how humble. but your popularity IS sky high these days!) Really! [What exactly is he doing, being humble or boastful...?] Haha, he's accepted his fame all right, but wants more But I guess the sudden surge in his popularity must trouble him sometimes. Ahh. How does he remain so adorable in situations like this? KHD: But anyway, how long do you think Seung Gi's popularity will last? From my point of view, I think it will last 10 years. EJW: 10 YEARS! LSG: Ah really? KHD: If Lee Seung Gi doesn't grow out of his personality (note here i think there is a double connotation to his words. He can mean on one hand "if LSG doesn't lose his real personality" or "if LSG doesn't outgrow his personality/image as a younger brother") If you don't grow out of it, I think your popularity will continue. LSG cracks up at this. Cute LSG: Ah, I'll be soo happy if my popularity is sustained for 10 years. I'll be so happy if i can do everything! (referring to being a multi faceted entertainer) Alone! EJW: He's getting agitated again! (er, remember the ride he had with Jiwon and how he flared up for a moment at the beeping sound? Same word is being used here, Ook, meaning to get agitated) LSG: Everything! (I want to) SWEEP EVERYTHING (that I can do into the bag). SWEEP IT ALL! Until there's no rival, no competitor or whatsoever in my work! (and his expression is soooo funny and cute here, with that hand gesture to suppress his supposed rivals. Ahhhh our boy is competitive under that gentle appearance isn't he?) [Agitated Emperor] KHD: You'll make sure there's no one else? LSG: I'll do everything (related to entertainment) myself! I'll be so happy if it lasts 10 years. And then I'll retire from the stage! They then finally reach the rest stop. KHD: Everyone. This is the man amongst us, he's like the Fedor of combative sport, our Lee Seung Gi! Here, we are finally down to this. Last year, our Noh Hong Chyul held a signing here. Our 1N2D rating's leader.The owner. The brain. Our Lee Seung Gi, what kind of a result will he bring? Lee Seung Gi! LSG: Yea? KHD: DoChon! (err, it means challenge. I know they like to say it, like how they like to say fighting, but i have no idea why. haha) Everyone cheers him on, and he feels really stressed. Eun Cho Ding makes a comment that I can't catch, which makes LSG agitated again, LOL.
Seung Gi finally goes outside, and asks the audience to cheer (as usual). He flashes a smile and thumbs up to the guys in the car, and the guys are happy with the reaction LSG is getting from the people. Captions are hilarious. Seung gi's captions go [The length (of the line of the crowd) is okay right?] Eh, that was a big understatement! Seung Gi heads off to the table to start signing, and the crowd RUNS to form a line. Notice how the first few in line are not teenage girls, but BOYS? I'm finally believing that his popularity stretches to the male population too, and not just us fangirls. heehee. A really long line forms and we get a flashback to contrast the situation to NHC, who was so happy he got A lady to sign. He signs for some cute little boys (I assume they are much younger than me ) and one of them hands LSG a sandwich. LSG: YAH!!! Sandwich! Is it really ok to give me this? Of course it is. The boy replies excitedly to LSG, while the guys in the car look on. KHD notices the sandwich with his sharp eagle eyes. LSGuen pops his hand out to ask for the food, but Seung Gi doesn't see. And we get another contrast of situations, flashback to when NHC runs over to his hungry brothers in the car and gives them the precious food he's earned. The guys try calling for Seung Gi. But he doesn't hear, of course. [Call for him... / and he doesn't look over] LSGuen Caption [In that case...] [Immediate takeaway!] [When the situation calls for it / He is speedy with his bare feet!] LOL, I didn't even notice LSguen was barefooted until i saw the captions. The guys in the car are thrilled of course, and all begin to pig out. I love how LSG just laughs LSGuen's actions off. He looked so good natured doing that. LSGuen sprints out of the car again for a second helping. Back on the car he gives the guys an idea of the situation outside. LSGuen: I can't see an end (to the line)! Meanwhile, LSG gets some food from a cute little girl. LSG: Is it ok to give me this? (eh, he repeats this like thrice to the little girl) Ah~~ Thank you!! Kiss! Kiss! And he gives a kiss to the little girl. Ah~~~ So sweet! I like guys who have a soft spot for kids. Kids are the BEST!! Meanwhile in the car the guys are finally feeling some guilt KHD: I feel sorry towards Seung Gi. Well, they continue to pig out. Like REALLY pig out. I wish I could try those snacks too! Seung Gi continues to sign for people of all ages. LSGuen: Seung Gi yah, stop (signing)! I'm stuffed! Seung Gi yah, stop it! I'm really full! LOL. While The guys continue to munch on their snacks, LSGuen gets a surprise looking out of the window. Back to the table where Seung Gi is signing, we see a long haired girl in queue. Girl: Hi!! (turns to the guy behind her) Oh, what should I do? I'm shaking! (Back to Seung Gi) I'm SuGuen oppa's cody (co-ordinator). LSG: Eh? SuGuen hyung's cody? (he looks really surprised. I wonder if he believed it) Back on the car. SuGuen sees his cody and gets all indignant. LSGuen: Ah really, if there wasn't me, they wouldn't be together (on the show) too...! KimC: Who's that? LSGuen: Its my cody! KimC: Really? [This time its SuGuen's cody / She leaves her artiste she's helping alone, to go get Seung Gi's autograph!] HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! LSGeun: Ah, this is really.. KimC: What's this (situation) man?? With that, Seung Gi finally gets over and done with the signing, and the guys get out to thank the people for their help. Back on the car, KHD: Ahh.. Lee Seung Gi, you are indeed something! LSG: But when all our members came out, the screams were deafening!

Quick update: I've finally completed the subs for last week's episode, so that's that. Here's for this week's episode. I'll usually post the stuff on soompi and then compile it on my blog a few days later, so if you want the latest stuff, just pop directly over to LSG's soompi thread. Also, I won't be able to do as detailed translations as I am doing now because school starts next week, and I have a hectic semester ahead, so I will be posting summaries and maybe some transcripts of the funnier dialogues depending on how much time I have to work on 1박2일every week. This week's 1N2D. The scene where LSG and EJW plays Wii is hilarious! It made me laugh over and over again, they were soooo serious playing the game! Here's the first part to this week's stuff.
We first get a refresher of last week's happenings. Then the real action kicks in.
[Meanwhile, the ones who have gotten the 1,000,000 allowance / Suguen.Mong combination] LSGuen: Oh, there's something wrong with the aircon? EJW laughs merrily at his plight. [The car that has a malfunctioning aircon!] LSGuen: Hey our aircon doesn't work! EJW: Hahaha! Their aircon doesn't work! Really! hahahaha! [But its impossible to send the aircon for repair now!] MCM: Hyung, let's just hurry up and set off. I feel really not now! [They will just set off] LSGuen: We have to close all the windows. MCM: Why? LSGuen: Because of the noise.. [Because of the ambient noise] [They have to close the windows...] [But] LSGuen: I really cannot tolerate it! [Who cares about the filming / I have to survive first!] LSGuen: Let's tell a long story! (as in like, lies, they mean tall story, i think) MCM: SuGuen hyung, aren't you tired?! LSGuen: I'm not tired at all! Don't worry.. Ah! Its so cool! [the audio recording is bad] [they are shouting and yelling to carry out a conversation] MCM: If you open the windows, people can see your face! LSGuen: Its ok, its night now! [But at this time!] [the car's lighting disappears!] LSGuen: Its the end of our filming now!
On the other hand, we see Seung Gi and Jiwon [Seeking assistance from their friends, Seung Gi.Ji Won team] EJW: Hello? Yea. Where are you? Come over here, quickly! I'm hanging up. LSG: Hyung, isn't your friend filming/recording too (as in like recording for a program) EJW: Nah, he isn't. (on the phone) Come over, quickly! [calls for assistance from his friend who isn't filming?] LSG: No, he's recording/filming so he's not coming out, hyung. [Even so] EJW: He hates recording/filming...! [Who by chance is it?] [The friend who hates recording/filming] EJW: He's Mr Typhoon! [JiWon's friend Mr Typhoon] (i'll call him MTY) MTY: Yes, I'm Mr Typhoon. EJW: He's a singer, singer. Enter Jiwon's adios. He's the guy who did the rap in the second verse for jiwon. [Without any notice] EJW: Do you have any money on you? (note, Jiwon says this really really casually, which makes it really funny) [Confused friend who hates recording/filming] EJW: Do you see our tees? They're pretty aren't they? [Goes to his friend's house without notice!] [But its considerably late] [They can't do as they please] LSG: Its really late now, and my parents in. If not, my house is just across the street. Shall we just ask for help there? (meaning they can just pop over) EJW: Your house? You left your house to come here? [But seung gi's parents are home sleeping too] LSG: I could go over to my house to ask for help.. EJW: We'll go to my house! My house! End of story! [In this case, JiWon lives alone in his house?] [They eat at their friend's house] [They don't have enough bedding and pillows so Seung Gi goes to his house...] [1N2D goes to Eun Ji Won's house]
Back at KHD and KimC's car, KimC is driving, and they meet up with an interesting guy. KHD: Yah, look, there's someone riding on a bicycle alone! [Pedalling hard, a lone man] KHD: He has a tent with him at the back.. let's stop and talk to him. KimC: Stop and talk to him? They get off the car and stop the guy. KHD: Here, ONE NIGHT!! Guy: 2DAYS! KHD: Hahaha, he's shocked by us. (looking through the guy's stuff) You're alone and prepared drinks too, are you going somewhere? [Going on a penniless trip alone) Guy: Yes, i'm setting off today. KHD: Where are you going? On your bike.. Guy: I'm going to Naksan beach. KHD: Where did you set off from then? Guy: I started from Namyangju.. KHD: You started from Namyangju and you are going to Naksan? [Its a 200km ride!] Guy: Ah, I'm also doing this for the first time. KHD: You're saying now that its your first time going on a trip like this? [His first long distance challenge] Guy: I'm still only 20 now.. KHD: Why are you doing this? Why? [His reason?] Guy: Well, just.. Honestly, there's no other reason, I just wanted to look at the sea. [it may be something insignificant to others but] Guy: And I want to think about entering army and also my future. Also what I want to accomplish (WOW, what a mature 20 year old!!) [What he wants to accomplish...] KHD: So what's this? [At the back is his small house, tent.undergarments] Guy: Ah, this? This is my sleeping bag (i think he says that, not too sure) KHD: So you are sleeping alone? Guys: And there's clothes in there too. KimC: Hey, that's similar to us. We have a tent, and nothing else too. No money and nothing to eat... KHD: Yea, thats true Guy: I came alone with 10,000won (think that's what he said) [The small amount of 10,000won to get to Naksan?] KimC: Oh, that's too much.. (as in its overboard, not that the money is alot. [Compared with 1N2D, his fate seems even worse, with his budget] KHD: You are going on a week's holiday with 10,000 won?? Yah, this person is really something. Alone, on his bicycle. People might mistake him for a robber.. [Robber?] [Budget trip?] KHD: We are getting too comfortable on 1N2D! 1N2D, give us some hardships! Some new hardship! (LOL!) [Thanks for the precious suggestion] --->ooh, love those editors! KimC: No but... KHD: Give us some hardships! Get rid of the car or something! He proceeds to give the guy a piggy back. KHD: I want/wish to carry him. Well done, well done, well done! My boy, my boy, my boy! Juyong yah, Juyong yah, Juyong yah! (can we see that KHD is ALL READY to become a daddy? ) [fighting for each of theor trips!] KimC: Let's wish ourselves well for our respective trips. KHD: One, two, three! FIGHTING! The guy prepares to set off and KHD gets him to shout the show's name from his bike. So funny, KHD was like "Start! Ok, stop! There!" And the guy shouts 1N2D!~ LOL.
[At this time, JiWon and Seung Gi] [ . . . ] [They are playing well] Wow, those biceps. Looks like the two boys have a competitive streak in them!
[Meanwhile, Sugeun and Mong] [Put up at a hotel] LSGuen: Ah, this is nice. MCM: Hyung! Go wash up first! LSGuen: I DON'T WANT TO!! You go wash up first! MCM: Then let's wash up together. LSGuen: Together? Oh, really? MCM: Ohhh.. (pushes LSGuen coyly) Go wash up first! LSGuen: Shall I do that? Ah, this is really nice.. and there are things to eat too... MCM: If you are a man go wash up first! Ah, I'm really vexed! (LOL, MCM is trying to act like the wife here, soooo funny!) [A while later] [Having their private talk together, the uncle and joker] ---> HAHAHAHAHA!!! [Mong finishes washing up and leaves first] LSGuen: Ah, I washed well. Hey, switch off the camera then go out! HEY! Turn the camera off before you go out!!! [What is he to do / How is he going to get over this difficulty...] LSGuen then tries to climb out of the tub to turn off the camera without flashing his family jewels for the rest of the world to see. He kinda reminds me of Sadako here, like how she climbs out of the TV. But of course, he isnt creepy, and is actually very funny. They start playing Mong's song. [I'm really going crazy, I'm really going crazy, I'm really going crazy, because of MONG, crazy, I'm really going crazy, I'm really going crazy] [MONG AH..!!!!]
[At this time in JiWon's house / They are now preparing to sleep] [Sueng Gi's bedding] EJW: Where did my ... go? (i can't hear what he was mumbling about, sorry!) LSG: You can just sleep like this... (stares at EJW and the cute little exclaimation mark pops out again) Hyung, is that new? The pants? Hahaha.. EJW: Yea. LSG: The tag is still on it, let me help you take it off! EJW: Ahh... don't take it off! If you take it off, it won't feel new! LSG: Hahaha... Ah, whoever looks at it will know its new, hyung! I love the way the boy laughs. Call me fangirl but I don't care. His laugh is adorable. EJW: Ah.. really. (walks over to Seung Gi) LSG: Are those shorts or panties, hyung? EJW: These are swimming pants! LSG: Really? [Swimming pants!!] [Wearing swimming shorts to sleep at home / JiWon...] OMGoodness, I laughed my head off at this. Its so random!! Swimming pants to sleep? JiWon, are you going swimming in your dreams??
Meanwhile, KimC and KHD are still having problems of their own. KHD: So where are we sleeping? [The time is now early dawn, 4am] KimC: Anywhere we go to (set up the tent) seems awkward.. [There's nothing beside the roads / and dawn is slowly breaking...]
Hodong starts talking about how on the internet, he's seen articles talking about people putting up at the national universities on their trips.
KIMC: National (government established) universities? There's a national university here.. KHD: Where's that? KIMC: KangWon university is a national university... We'll set up our base camp at KangWon University? KHD: Its the safest place to go, from the site I saw in the past... KimC: Are you sure about this?
KHD: Let's set up our base camp here. Right here in the centre! Then we can feel the campus the best! KimC: You want to set up the tent here on the flat (and hard!) concrete and sleep? KHD: This way you can feel the spirit of the campus! KimC: Hyung, its alright now, but just you wait till a while later. Later when the sun comes out, without the shade of the trees, it'll be the end of us!
[and so...] [they make a compromise, beneath the trees+concrete] KHD: Are you going to set up the camera here? KimC: When we are sleeping? KHD: Are you going to do so? When we are sleeping? I don't know.. So we'll just sleep? KimC: Sleep. KHD: Sleep? KimC: Let's sleep. KHD: Just like this? KimC: Just sleep, we have to go later. [Tomorrow... no, today's itinerary has them worried] [So the elders are resting their exhausted bodies but] HoDong gets up. [Its hot...] So does KimC [Me too...]
Meanwhile at Suguen and Mong's [The time now is 7.00am / Still in dreamland, Sugeun.Mong combination] Mong's 'I'm going crazy' song rings. LOL, I think I should consider setting that as my alarm ringtone too, in place of Adios. That's how I feel waking up, "I'm going crazy" and "Why baby why!" do i have to wake up. HAHAHA. but that's me. [Even though they should get up quickly] MCM: AH MOSQUITOES~!! [Because of the mosquitoes, Mong wakes up] LSGuen: Ah... I'm really going crazy! I got bitten by the mozzies 3000 times! 3000 times! MCM: I got bitten 4000 times! LSGuen: There are really many mozzies here! [He couldn't sleep at night because of the mozzies] [Why are there so many mozzies here...] [The two people left the door open!] [And there's no mosquito net! (to keep the mozzies out)] SuGuen then makes an amazing discovery LSGuen: Woah! Yah, I found something! Mong ah! Yah, look at this here. "Mosquito blood. Let's go close the door". [Someone wrote on the wall] [Mosquito blood! Let's go close the door. 2005/04/09] [The two people who are frightfully out of luck]
[Its raining in ChunChon] [The tent is hot, with the sound of the rain] [and their shoes are without their owners and getting drenched] [after quickly gathering the shoes] DaeJu (the writer): Just let them sleep? [Excuse me...] [Please wake up...] [This is enough...] [Ah... this is tiring / waking them up...] [after a night on concrete/ their spirits are suffering] [One by one they wake up with the rain to welcome them] KHD: This is really the time of the day where I feel like sleeping the most, in the tent, with the rain falling outside. The sound of the rain, dadadadada...That sounds is really nice! DaeJu: Ah, the sound of the rain. KHD: OHHH! That sound is nice, really like it a lot!The sound of the rain.. [Romantic guy?] ---> HAHAHAHA!! I LOVE these captions. [A while later] [Romantic guy...] [Rests his head on the pot for cooking rice] [Blocks his face] (the arrow pointing to the box says "Gas stove case") [But] [His figure is (big) and catches the attention of other'seyes!] Caption for guy [Isn't this Kang Ho Dong?] [He moves the shoes in to prevent them form getting drenched] Caption for guy [I'll go back home and tell them all about this! / Kang Ho Dong is sleeping on the roads(streets)..] [The rain continues to fall on the campus / and the base camp is quiet and still] [The two ajusshis (middle aged men) / What kind of dreams are they dreaming of...]
Then we move over to MCM+LSGuen's car. MCM: I made this up. Do you find it strange? LSGuen: I like it! MCM: Yes, I think its really nice too. I made this tune myself. (kimbab = stuffed seaweed rice rolls. its similar to sushi, but of course, the koreans keep protesting that its different altogether. *shrugs*) EJW: Here, have some kimbab to eat too. LSG: Our hyungs... how are they doing? EJW: Our hyungs? [They are fighting] Enter MCM and LSGuen who are quarreling. I won't attempt to translate their quarrel, its just too much, LOL. But the stuff they fought over was soooo trivial, and it made the whole thing so funny! [Love and War / Paper thin friendship, the sound of their quarrels] [None of them have a strong foothold and they just sling mud at each other] [They are just the the midst of complaining to their own audience] LSGuen starts ranting about MCM, and he said "To MCM's girlfriend, MCM just won't do!" [This time to the girlfriend?] And they continue quarelling when the PD asks them over the walkie talkie what they have done to their money. [Again. Again. Again... QUARRELING]
[Meanwhile over at Hodong's] [They are having an outdoors ramyeon brunch] KHD: Here. Everyone, now we are eating the first thing in the whole day. We are eating our breakfast now. [They have eaten 0kcal since their ginseng chicken yesterday] [It is a flavour that feels them with emotions!] LOL@ the editors again. [It was really hard getting the ramyeon] Flashback to the two guys holding a picture of noodles [Today at 8am] [They hallucinate because of their empty stomachs]
